Comodo Security Solutions has received high marks for two of its endpoint protection products. The Comodo Advanced Endpoint Security offering and Comodo Internet Security solution each scored 100 percent on protection and detection tests administered by the AVLAB Cybersecurity Foundation.
The results were part of AVLAB's 17th edition of the “Advanced In The Wild Malware Test.” Poland-based AVLAB strives to test the usefulness of security solutions and also issue certificates confirming the effectiveness of protection against malware.
The most recent round of testing, conducted last month, involved 10 endpoint protection products. The offerings were continuously evaluated by using thousands of unique malware samples in an effort to challenge those solutions against actual, real-life threats. Products were scored based on their capabilities using all components and protection layers to provide security against the malware.
Both of Comodo's solutions passed the test with flying colors, blocking all 2,050 possible threats as well as offering protection against all zero-day samples. According to Comodo, the Advanced Endpoint Protection solution prevents 100 percent of ransomware and other malware through the use of a patented virtual isolation capability. The feature is used to confine unknown files and code in a protective container until it is proven to be 100 percent safe.
Comodo's Advanced Endpoint Protection uses a combination of machine learning and human analysis to provide users with threat information within 45 seconds. It is designed to have a minimum impact on endpoint performance and uses the Comodo Auto Containment Technology to immediately encapsulate unknown files, potential threats and attempts to execute on an endpoint.
“Once again, Comodo has proven the effectiveness of our solution during this latest evaluation,” said Faith Orhan, EVP of engineering at Comodo. “As the results of this test illustrate, Comodo is still the only endpoint security solution on the market that applies the Zero Trust principle of ‘Never Trust; Always Verify.' ”
