Australia's Comms Group Acquires MSP OnPlatinum

By Tracey E. Schelmetic

Australia’s Comms Group, a global cloud communications company, recently announced the acquisition of onGroup Holdings (which trades as onPlatinum), a Queensland-based managed services provider specializing in IT services, security, phone services, and Microsoft Teams calling. Comms Group noted the acquisition of OnPlatinum’s suite of IT, security, cloud and print business solutions will enhance its already expansive range of global voice, data, SD-WAN and security solutions offered by the Group brands Next Telecom, Comms Group, Binary Networks and Switched On Australia.

According to Comms Group, the acquisition will accelerate its growth and capability in managed services and print solutions, allow it to leverage its existing national data and global voice networks to take onPlatinum’s offer to broader Australian and global markets - and strengthens its ability to provide a complete and integrated solution set to customers across data, voice, managed services and print requirements.

“We are extremely pleased to welcome onPlatinum’s CEO Shannon Overs and his team to Comms Group in both Queensland and New South Wales,” said Comms Group CEO and Managing Director Peter McGrath. “We are committed to driving sustained growth within the business. The acquisition of onPlatinum allows Comms Group to further strengthen our position in the corporate mid-market by extending our product offerings and provides expansion into the strategically important QLD market. We are excited for our team and our business to take the next step on its journey and look forward to our continued relationship with customers.”

onPlatinum Group’s CEO says the merger will increase its targeted growth strategy.

“onPlatinum is very excited to become part of this new dynamic business ICT group,” said onPlatinum’s CEO Shannon Overs. “We decided to join Comms Group to be part of this growth journey and bring to the group our leading IT services portfolio and relationship with many great companies. I am pleased to be continuing as the Head of onPlatinum and look forward to working closely with the Comms Group team.”
