CalTech Receives SOC 2 Type 2 Audit Certification

By Stefania Viscusi

IT companies play a critical role in assisting businesses with their computer and security needs. Not just keeping things up and running, but also providing time to be productive focuses on their core business.

CalTech is stepping up its efforts to provide top level managed services for clients  through new certifications. Most recently, CalTech announced the successful completion of MSPAlliance's MSP Verify Program (MSPCV) certification and SOC 2 Type 2.

Based on 10 control objectives for the Unified Certification Standard for Cloud & MSPs (UCS) this certification program for cloud computing and managed services providers means the company has been verified for providing quality cloud and/or managed services.

As one of the oldest and most accepted certifications, the MSPCV includes a written report specific to each certification with the entire process documented, validated and signed by a 3rd party accounting firm.

For CalTech's SOC 2 Type 2 audit, the UCS and the Trust Services Criteria for Security as well the Additional Criteria for Availability and Confidentiality (TSP section 100A – 2017) were all tested and certified.

"CalTech has a highly skilled and dedicated team. All the credit for developing and improving the controls that are examined and tested during this process goes to them. In turn, existing and prospective customers can rest assured knowing that we strive to not only meet the Unified Certification Standards, but exceed them in many cases," said Michael Adams, CalTech COO.

For customers looking to managed and cloud services, the company with an MSPCV certification is verified to have met or exceeded standards in: Governance, Policies and Procedures, Confidentiality and Privacy, Change Management, Service Operations Management, Information Security, Data Management, Physical Security, Billing and Reporting, and Corporate Health.

"The MSPCV certification is a rigorous certification process that benchmarks and verifies the quality of the company providing cloud and/or managed services," said Charles Weaver, MSPAlliance CEO. "We are very proud to have CalTech as a member of this elite community of cloud and MSPs."
