Sumo Logic Acquires Cybersecurity Firm DFLabs

By Luke Bellos

Sumo Logic has announced that the company has initiated the purchase of DFLabs, a cybersecurity firm based in Italy that specializes in enterprise management.

Combining the resources and experience of both companies, Sumo Logic will provide MSPs and MSSPs with automated security and orchestration. Sumo will be hybridizing it’s own SIEM platform with DFLab’s SOAR software to give large scale businesses advanced security capabilities.

“The acquisition will broaden Sumo Logic’s portfolio as well as a rich joint ecosystem of customers and partners including MSPs, MDRs and VARs, while accelerating the companies’ mutual strategy to deliver the automation needed to modernize the SOC.” commented Sumo Logic CEO Ramin Sayar

The acquisition comes at a time of rapid growth for DFLabs, with the company reporting significant earnings potential in the next few years. Adroit Market Research reports that by 2025, revenues from SOARS are expected to reach $1.83 billion. The same can be said for Sumo Logic’s SIEM platform, which generated $54.2 million in revenue in Q4 of fiscal 2021, up 22% from the previous year.

“The team at DFLabs deeply understands the challenges facing the modern security practitioner, and we’ve purpose built our SOAR to help them dramatically improve their productivity. Said Dante Forte, DFLabs CEO. “Joining Sumo Logic will be an exciting next step for all of us, as the value we believe we can provide together is very clearly understood.”

The financial details of the transaction were not immediately disclosed, and government approvals are still needed in order for the deal to be finalized.
