Ireland's Welltel to Boost Managed Services Offering with Acquisition of Novi

By Tracey E. Schelmetic

Welltel, an Irish end-to-end communications provider, announced last week that it has acquired Kildare, Ireland-based IT service provider Novi. The goal of the acquisition was to position a combined Welltel and Novi to be able to provide an integrated suite of managed IT services, cybersecurity services, remote working, phone systems, unified communications and secure connectivity to customers.

Headquartered in Dublin, Welltel is a voice and call recording specialist that designs, deploys, manages and supports enterprise grade communications, compliance recording and performance management solutions. Novi is a cloud services provider that delivers bespoke cloud solutions: hybrid, private, public and multi cloud. It counts among its customers high-profile companies such as Irish Funds, Mater Hospital, O’Brien’s Fine Foods and Expert Electrical.

The acquisition will enable Welltel to expand and enhance its cybersecurity and managed service offering, according to the companies. While Welltel will continue to provide specialized communications and telephony services and solutions, it has now added Novi’s experience in securing and optimizing companies’ networks. This equips it to offer fully integrated communications and managed IT cybersecurity services –opening new market opportunities for the company.

“The Welltel and Novi teams share a very similar vision of enabling growth for businesses which made this acquisition a natural fit,” said Ross Murray, CEO of Welltel, in a statement. “We were deeply impressed with the strength of Novi’s client base and recurring revenue growth, as well as its proactive approach. Novi’s consistent revenue growth is founded on its ability to acquire and retain high profile customers.”

Current Novi customers will now be able to access Welltel’s managed business communications suite, including telephony services for Microsoft Teams, business broadband and SD-WAN services. The purchase of Novi is Welltel’s second acquisition this year. In February, the company purchased ICT provider Invisitech.
