iland Introduces New Disaster Recovery Planning and Assessment Service

By Frank Griffin

These days it is very rare to find an organization that doesn't have a digital presence and what this means is the communications, operations and storage comprises of some form of information and telecommunications technology. While migrating from analog to digital has introduced many benefits, it also responsible for risks in which organizations must protect themselves against. Whether the IT solution the company has selected is on premises or in the cloud, events can take place in which the data the organization relies on gets completely corrupted. That is why it is essential to have the right business continuity/disaster recovery (BC/DR) solution in place.

iland, a provider of Disaster-Recovery-As-A-Service (DRaaS) and enterprise cloud solutions, has introduced its new Disaster Recovery Planning and Assessment Service to provide organizations with a comprehensive analysis for planning and executing a speedy recovery no matter how large the IT infrastructure is.

The solution is designed to accurately assess and analyze many of the technical, procedural and business requirements that get in the way of an effective BC/DR. If the solution that is in place is not able to fully recognize the complexity of the IT infrastructure within the organization as well as the growing number of critical systems, it will not be possible to fully recover from an event.

The iland platform is applied after the company’s team performs a thorough analysis. It then delivers the solution that is specifically suited for the company so they can prepare, implement and optimize the recommended disaster recovery solution to protect the organization if a disaster takes place.

“It is increasingly trendy for cloud vendors to offer disaster recovery as a service, but in truth, disaster recovery is a complex interplay of technology and process that requires experience to do right. In our seven years of working with thousands of organizations on tailored disaster recovery solutions, iland has the expertise companies need to protect their business,” said Dante Orsini, senior vice president at iland.

The Disaster Recovery Planning and Assessment Service includes:

  • Educating customers as to the range of criteria that requires consideration for a disaster recovery solution.
  • Training to execute a self-guided performance/utilization assessment.
  • Analysis of the customer’s disaster recovery capacity requirements and configuration needs, based on the assessment data
  • A customized demonstration of the recommended disaster recovery solution at work with a comprehensive recommendations based on the customer’s disaster recovery goals

This also includes finding out the types of disasters to be considered (both natural and manmade); type of replication that will be needed; type of network configurations necessary for rapid recovery (VLANs, VPN, etc); how data will be accessed, who will be responsible for declaring a disaster; and the order of operations for bringing systems back online.

The Disaster Recovery Planning and Assessment Service is now available to companies across the globe with a one-time service fee of $2,520. If an organization implements a solution with iland, the service is free.
