NaviSite Announces New NaviCloud Vault: Data Domain Replication and Cloud Storage Service

By Laura Stotler

NaviSite has expanded its NaviCloud suite of managed offerings with a new off-site replication service and cloud storage solution. The new NaviCloud Vault: Data Domain offering adds to the company’s diverse suite of managed offerings, which include desktop-as-a-service (DaaS), messaging and collaboration solutions and the NaviCloud IaaS platform.

NaviCloud Vault: Data Domain uses EMC Data Domain deduplication storage systems to provide a scalable and cost-effective solution for companies seeking data storage and retention. It is available through an on-demand cloud-based model that allows user scale off-site storage capacity without any upfront costs.

EMC is a valuable partner for NaviSite, enabling the company to support a variety of enterprise storage applications for consolidating, backing up and archiving data using high-speed inline deduplication. NaviSite officially rolled out its channel partner program last year, formally teaming up with MSPs, master agents and IT services organizations. The company’s NaviCloud IaaS platform is powered by VMware vCloud technology, another valuable ally for NaviSite, which is a Time Warner Cable Company.

NaviCloud Vault: Data Domain is a multi-tenant solution that eliminates the need for traditional physical tape backup services while also enhancing data availability and uptime. The service is securely hosted across NaviSite’s SSAE-16 compliant data centers, and comes with a variety of value-added offerings. These include shared firewall infrastructure on the front end of the data domain system, and multi-homed internet bandwidth at the data centers for secure connectivity to customers.

Additional NaviSite services include 24/7 monitoring and management from company experts as well as professional managed services, which include everything from the design and implementation of a data domain system to custom firewalls tailored to customer specifications. The offering is also completely integrated with NaviSite’s Cloud and Managed Hosting portfolio of services.
