MSP Net Access Appoints New CEO as Part of Expansion Efforts

By Laura Stotler

Managed service provider (MSP) Net Access is hailing the new year with some major personnel changes, including the appointment of a new CEO. Raul K. Martynek, previously CEO of Voxel dot Net, Inc., will take over the role of CEO at Net Access. The company's current CEO and co-founder, Blake Ellman, will be transitioning to the role of CTO with a focus on leading product development.

Net Access specializes in providing colocation, cloud and managed services in the New York metropolitan region. The company operates several data centers and offers 24x7 support with expertise in networking server hardware and a variety of operating systems and database applications. Facilities are SSAE 16 Type II certified as well PCI DSS compliant.

Earlier this year, the company partnered with NexGen Networks, a provider of fiber optic-based network solutions. The companies are working together, enabling Net Access to utilize NexGen's high-speed services at their data centers.

The new CEO's appointment comes on the heels of a corporate re-branding and the launch of a new website in October. Martynek is a good fit as the company's chief officer, with 20 years of experience in managing and expanding telecommunications and hosting companies. He saw managed hosting company Voxel through its acquisition by Internap Network Services Corp. in January of 2012. Prior to that he served as CEO of Irish fiber carrier Smart Telecom Co., and was president and CEO of InfoHighway Communications Corporation.

“The time was right to bring on someone from the outside and make the transition from a founder run company to an executive with a diverse background in growing technology businesses," said Ellman. “My passion when I started this company was working with new technology, and by bringing on Raul, I’m excited to be able to focus 100 percent of my time towards developing and managing our products and services portfolio which is crucial to our continued long term success. We just closed out our best year ever, and with the business needs expanding at such a rapid pace bringing on Raul at this point is the perfect time to complete this transition.”

“The advanced technology and efficiency of the data centers we have developed in New Jersey are unmatched within the region and with Raul joining the team we are primed for explosive growth," added Alex Rubenstein, co-founder and COO.
