CA Technologies Offers SSO Interoperability for SaaS Providers through New Validation Program

CA Technologies Offers SSO Interoperability for SaaS Providers through New Validation Program

By Laura Stotler

A new program geared toward helping software-as-a-service (SaaS) providers boost their sales and customer adoption has been announced by CA Technologies. The CA Security SaaS Validation Program also aims to help providers enhance security for their SaaS-based applications.

The new validation program offers an easy way for SaaS providers to create and confirm standards-based single sign-on (SSO) interoperability between their solutions and the CA SiteMinder and CA CloudMinder offerings. CA’s SSO offerings provide policy-based authorization, auditing and administration for web and cloud applications.

Research and Markets forecasts the global identity and access management software market will hit $10.39 billion by 2018, with many organizations transitioning from traditional solutions to cloud identity management. SaaS is helping to drive the market, along with mobility and the bring-your-own-device (BYOD) trend. CA is known as a major player in the space, alongside Oracle, IBM, Microsoft, Intel and AWS.

The new SaaS Validation Program offers a number of benefits for service providers who need to integrate their offerings with customers’ existing SSO environments. Being able to offer this type of integration not only ensures a good user experience, but also provides  consistent security levels across applications and SSO sessions.

Documentation created during the CA validation process may also be used by customers to quickly integrate SaaS solutions with the CA SiteMinder or CA CloudMinder SSO offerings within their own environments. The program also supports SAML, WS-Fed and other standards to help make SSO integration seamless. The testing and integration parts of the program may be completed by SaaS providers through a self-service environment hosted by CA, or with assistance from the company’s partner team. Once validation is complete, interoperability details are documented in a runbook outlining a step-by-step integration process and offering tips and troubleshooting advice.

"Customers depend on our simple-to-use, powerful SaaS tools for collaboration and data sharing to run their business," said Matt Lull, managing director, strategic alliances, Citrix. "The CA Technologies Security SaaS Partner program provides checkpoints in the integration and validation process that help them in delivering a seamless experience to our joint customers."
