Fusionworkshop Migrates from Pulsant Colocation to Managed Hosting Solutions

By Laura Stotler

Managed service provider (MSP) and cloud computing company Pulsant was chosen by Fusionworkshop to help expand its service offering. The company, which delivers .Net Web applications mainly on Sitecore, will use Pulsant hosting solutions to migrate from the company’s colocation services already in use.

Digital agency Fusionworkshop has been expanding with the goal of delivering a more comprehensive and secure platform to its customers. Migrating to Pulsant’s managed hosting offerings will help the company achieve its growth goals.

Pulsant specializes in providing high levels of security, resilience and connectivity through its 10 data centers. The facilities are located throughout the U.K. and offer managed hosting, cloud computing and colocation solutions to more than 3,000 customers. The company also owns a 10 GB core network connecting its data centers, and provides international services through presence in New York, Amsterdam and Hong Kong.

"As part of our business we provide Web hosting solutions to a broad range of enterprise-class customers and as part of our expansion plans we needed a proven hosting partner able to support our strategic change to deliver more of these services," said Dan Berry, operations director, Fusionworkshop. "We were not looking for a supplier, but rather a partner to work with us and support us in delivering the best possible services and solutions to our current and future customers. We're currently migrating our services to the new platform and our customers are really seeing the benefits.”

More and more companies are choosing to migrate from colocation to cloud and managed hosting offerings. Migration eliminates the hassle and capital and operating expenditures associated with purchasing or leasing and maintaining hardware and software. Managed cloud solutions are more cost effective, and often provide higher levels of security and availability than could be achieved through colocation.

Pulsant brings those qualities to the table, and was recently awarded the CSA STAR certification. The benchmark, developed specifically for cloud providers through the Cloud Security Alliance (CSA) and the British Standards Institution, is a measure of vendor security capabilities. Pulsant is one of only three companies to receive the certification after a successful audit of their services.
