MSP CITYTECH Achieves AWS Competency Designation

By Laura Stotler

Amazon Web Services (AWS) has led the cloud infrastructure-as-a-service (IaaS) space for the last couple of years, with Gartner naming AWS the overwhelmingly dominant vendor in sector in its Magic Quadrant report. And managed and cloud service providers are scrambling to partner with the cloud giant, proving to their customers that they have strong and reputable backing.

CITYTECH, Inc., an IT consultant and provider of cloud services and web content management, is the latest company to utilize its AWS partnership. The company was awarded an Amazon Web Services Competency designation through its participation in the Amazon Partner Network (APN).

As an APN Consulting Partner, CITYTECH was recognized for attaining proficiency in the Managed Services Provider (MSP) specialization. To achieve the designation, CITYTECH was required to demonstrate strong AWS practices while also showcasing its customers’ successes through case studies and white papers. The MSP also had to demonstrate technical readiness. CITYTECH is one of only 11 AWS partners throughout the world to be awarded the MSP competency.

"We work with our clients on not only the initial cloud migration and build-out steps, but also take things further by providing ongoing services,” said Dan Ryerson, director of cloud services for CITYTECH.

"Amazon's public cloud offering enabled us to take a fresh and exciting look at the world of managed services - focusing on automation, monitoring, and provisioning to allow our engineers to focus on high value tasks for our clients rather than mundane issues that have been typical of a managed services offering,” added Matt Van Bergen, CTO.

CITYTECH manages multiple AWS instances for its enterprise customers, and handles applications and IT infrastructure. The company also offers cloud enablement services for customers trying out the public cloud for the first time. The company’s partners include Adobe and Red Hat.
