Scale Computing Lets Partners in on Hyperconverged Secret

By Doug Barney

Scale Computing offers a technology dubbed hyperconvergence and now wants to let partners in on the action through its news Platinum Partner Program.

Convergence usually refers to network convergence where separate pieces and services are all put on a single converged network. Hyperconvergence takes that to a higher level, and “seamlessly integrates servers, storage and virtualization into a single platform that delivers simplicity, availability and scalability all in one,” which is just how Scale Computing describes its HC3 product.

The new partner program, meanwhile, is aimed right at the heart of the midmarket.

“Scale Computing partners gain the ability to offer the industry’s leading midsized enterprise hyperconverged solution for rolling out virtualization and private cloud environments, and other value-added services.  The program provides resellers with a complete end-to-end support program of sales, marketing and technical enablement.  Scale Computing partners also receive competitive margins while bringing Scale Computing’s innovative, cutting-edge solutions to their midmarket customers to help them simplify their infrastructure,” executives said.

Much of this type of convergence has been achieved through server virtualization and other techniques such as network and storage virtualization.

Scale says it can achieve those aims without all that suffering. “HC3 meets the needs of midmarket businesses looking to achieve the efficiencies of virtualization and private clouds without the complexities and cost of VMware,” the company said. “With server, storage and virtualization integrated into a single platform, HC3 eliminates software licenses and additional hardware required.  Scale Computing lowers TCO and its integrated approach radically simplifies the infrastructure needed to keep applications running in virtualization and private cloud environments.”

One solution provider is having good luck pitching HC3. “Scale Computing’s hyperconverged HC3 family of products makes it much easier for our midsized customers to deploy virtualization and private clouds, and in turn this brings real, tangible value to us by giving us a solution for this market,” said Mike Strohl, CEO of Entisys Solutions Inc.  “HC3 is a very easy concept to sell, and has been an easy solution to incorporate into our solution mix.  It helps us keep our services bench fully utilized, and makes us our customers’ trusted supplier as their growth requirements scale.  Our sales cycles are much shorter because of the simplicity of the solution and the overall acquisition cost.”

Partner Details

Like most good partner program, the Scale deal includes marketing, sales and technical components. The company also promises good margins, a key for any reseller. “The program also offers sales and technical certification so registered partners can be trained to become an HC3 Certified Partner, which includes additional benefits such as business development and marketing planning, warm opportunities, knowledge transfers and professional services.  A partner portal is also available to all partners, which includes resources such as deal registration and tracking, lead generation tools, video library, and a support center.”

Some 50 partners have already signed onto the new program.
