Scale-Out Cloud Storage is Becoming a Popular Value-Added Offering for MSPs

By Laura Stotler

Scale-out cloud storage is being offered by many managed service providers (MSPs) these days as businesses of all sizes look for solutions to deal with their growing volumes of data. Too often, companies cannot efficiently manage, secure and store the huge amounts of data they are generating and are turning to the cloud for answers.

MSPs can easily offer managed and scalable cloud storage as a value-added option for their customers. Whether a company has a dedicated network topology, a cloud model or a hybrid configuration, using an MSP to manage your cloud storage takes away the burden of storing, securing and managing massive volumes of data.

Too often, businesses seem overwhelmed with prioritizing and securing their data in an efficient and cost-effective manner. Some data needs to be readily available to a broad spectrum of users, while other types of information may be stored deeper in the cloud for only occasional access. MSPs and cloud service providers can help with managing data and assigning access priority to specific sets of data.

Service providers can also help your business plan in its migration to the cloud, while ensuring data is properly secured and backed up. MSPs and cloud providers often use tokens and host/API URLS for offering access to storage disks, making it simple to store and manage files within the cloud.

savvisdirect, a CenturyLink company, offers a variety of cloud storage solutions designed to let customers store large amounts of data cost effectively. The company uses a secure, object-based cloud infrastructure connected to the public Internet that provides easy customer access and 100 percent automated replication. Additional benefits include a management console, redundant storage and 99.95 percent storage uptime guarantees.

Managers from the company will be taking part in an upcoming webinar, "Managing Your Data Growth with Cloud Storage." The event will take place on May 29 at 2 p.m. EST, and will cover everything from planning the migration of data files to the cloud to multiple use cases for cloud storage solutions.
