GXS Offers Cloud-based Managed File Transfer-as-a-Service for Financial Services Firms

By Laura Stotler

B2B integration services provider GXS is now offering its GXS Managed File Transfer-as-a-Service (MFTaaS) offering. The cloud-based service lets financial services firms exchange a variety of file types with their clients as well as other parties.

GXS MFTaaS is designed to offer security and efficient delivery of a number of files, including account statements, payment instructions, check images, insurance forms and securities settlement instructions. All aspects of the financial supply chain are supported to ensure secure transfer of complex and diverse file types.

The solution is designed to support growing file transfer volumes as well as expanded compliance requirements, while helping customers reduce the costs associated with disparate legacy file transfer platform increases. GXS MFTaaS offers security by ensuring documents arrive unaltered as well as by verifying senders and receivers via encryption, non-repudiation and digital certificates for authentication.

Other benefits include visibility into system data throughout the entire lifecycle of transactions, along with the ability to identify who sent a file, how it was exchanged, who read it and when. The service also guarantees delivery and auditing by automating recurring processing and scheduling transfers. GXS MFTaaS even offers on-time, unaltered delivery of documents and creates an audit trail for ensuring regulatory compliance.

The offering is part of the GXS BizManager suite of products and is built to support open standards such as SFTP, FTPS, FTP over private connectivity, AS2, AS2 and browser-based HTTPS.

“Security is paramount in the financial services industry," said Bob Rossman, director of global product management at GXS. "With the volume of time-critical and sensitive information flowing between financial counter parties, many of the current options for file transfer do not meet the industry’s requirements. Built on the SaaS platform, GXS MFT not only offers a secure environment for financial data but also offers quick and easy access to the solution for financial institutions and their clients.”
