Mformation Cloud Connect Solution Offers Quick Path to Service Provisioning for Mobile Operators

By Laura Stotler

The Mformation Cloud Connect over-the-air service configuration and provisioning solution has been announced by Mformation Software Technologies, Inc. The new cloud-based offering is hosted by Mformation, an independent provider of advanced mobility management solutions.

Mformation Cloud Connect gives MVNOs and mobile operators immediate access to a large and up-to-date library of devices. This lets service providers provision their services on both current and future devices, and helps them speed time-to-market for next-generation RCS and RCS-e services.

The new cloud-based service ensures mobile devices and services are continuously working and configured properly. Features include over-the-air configuration of device settings, which includes access points, MMS, e-mail and Internet browsers.

The service also provides a customer care portal with an easily branded user interface, ready to be implemented by service providers.

The offering includes an administration console for easy setup and management of configuration profiles, and a device database consisting of more than 90,000 device codes and more than 7,000 models, updated monthly. The Mformation Automatic Device Detector component offers a path to automated device configuration, and a path to hosted RCS/RCS-e service provisioning is also enabled.

This helps speed up time to market for new RCS and RCS-e services like chat and IM, presence/geo-location, video calling and image/video/file sharing.

Mformation Cloud Connect also provides SMS-C integration to enable configuration messages to be channeled directly to MVNO and mobile operator SMS-C, as well as APIs to let operators easily integrate external triggers for device configuration actions like self care, SMS and USSD.

"Many MVNOs and mobile operators do not pre-provision their devices, either because they need to get to market quickly with new devices, or they have less direct control over the retail supply chain," said Rakesh Kushwaha, Mformation CTO. "This makes it critical for them to be able to remotely configure and provision services on their customers' mobile devices."

"With Mformation Cloud Connect, these operators get over-the-air configuration and provisioning that can be implemented in a matter of days, with a reduced up-front investment and lower ongoing infrastructure costs," he added. "With access to the largest continuously updated library of device models in the industry and a path to hosted RCS/RCS-e service provisioning, operators can be confident that the solution will support both their current and future needs."
