NTT Communications Delivering Fully Managed Business Solution to Yokohoma Tyre Australia

By Laura Stotler

Yokohoma Tyre Australia (YTA) has chosen NTT Communications to create and implement a fully managed business solution. Managed services provider (MSP) NTT is designing and deploying a solution comprised of networking, security, Internet and data center services and support for YTA.

The companies began working together five years ago, and YTA has recently moved to NTT's data center in Sydney, Australia. This has eliminated networking, connectivity and critical business function interruptions for YTA's franchisees, retail stores, contact centers and warehouses.

The company is a distributor of tires throughout Australia, with warehouses in each state and a network of 500 dealers throughout the country.

“Our IT infrastructure needed to be both reliable and simple to manage, so utilizing NTT for all our requirements was an easy choice as they could provide resilient networking, data center, security and Internet services,” said Duance Hum, IT manager for YTA. “Prior to the upgrade we operated our servers from one of our warehouses. Unfortunately we experienced regular evacuations which wreaked havoc on our system as the servers had to be taken offline each time.”

Hum added that YTA chose NTT because of its reputation for reliability and quality. The new solution has been delivered on time and within budget thus far. YTA now plans to work with NTT on additional cloud services, business intelligence and customer relationship management (CRM) systems.

NTT is a telecom and ICT solution provider to companies throughout the world. The provider has subsidiaries and offices in 87 cities and 31 countries and regions of the world. Cloud offerings include enterprise cloud and cloud migration services, global virtualization services and the NTT Com Cloud, a global public cloud service.

The firm offers a variety of managed security services as well.
