ITC Infotech Leaps into Risk Management Services Fray

By Doug Barney

IT services and solutions firm ITC Infotech is getting more into the risk management game with a deal to expand support for customers who use Misys software.

Misys is a large trade and risk management company who offers Misys Global Risk and Kondor+. The ITC deal is aimed at supporting Kondor+ customers with its ITC Infotech Kondor Services (IKONS). ITC already supports the Misys Global Risk tool.

“Through IKONS, ITC Infotech will offer end-to-end IT services including managed services, professional services, implementation, support and value added services including building standardizations, repeatability & reusability, enabling faster implementations through accelerator packs & quick starts and process standardization,” ITC representatives said.

The Kondor+ risk management tool is aimed at investment management and claims some 1,800 customers in 120 countries. Misys Kondor+ is already supported by an extensive set of systems integrators and technology partners scattered across the globe.

Meanwhile, ITC is based in Bangalore, and has subsidiaries in the US and UK, giving it a global footprint. In fact, ITC can deliver services in over 140 countries. This allows the service provider to support Misys customers around the world. In fact, ITC is already providing IKONS to a major bank in the Middle East.

After the global banking crisis, which started in 2007, governments and banks realized they had to fundamentally reduce the chance that such a widespread collapse would ever happen again. Part of that effort is to up the ante in risk management through software such as Kondor+.

Besides taking some of the chance out of large-scale trading, risk management software can also help banks change how their trading systems operate, either expanding or consolidating, or lowering their costs. This is all because there is a standard platform that helps support these trading activities.

Besides partnerships with service providers such as ITC, Misys has deals with technology partners such as HP and Microsoft to make deployment easier and to offer a higher level of support.

Misys is happy to make ITC a bigger part of its partner fold. "We are excited to extend our partnership with ITC Infotech, and see a huge value addition to Kondor+ customers through these integrated services. IKONS will help our customers unlock potential from their investments in Kondor+ and Misys Global Risk. Our long standing partnership with ITC Infotech has enabled us to help deliver value to our customers, and we look forward to working collaboratively with ITC Infotech on extending these services." said Nadeem Syed, president and COO, Misys.
