ATScloud and ExaGrid Systems Partner on Cloud-Based DRaaS for MSPs and VARs

By Laura Stotler

Hybrid cloud service provider ATScloud has been chosen as a strategic partner by ExaGrid Systems. Together, these companies will work to deliver cloud-based Disaster Recovery as a Service (DRaaS), serving customers through the U.S. with a secure-BDRcloud solution.

New and existing ExaGrid customers will now have the option to replicate their backup data to ATScloud, which will reduce or eliminate the need to vault tapes off-site for disaster protection. ExaGrid traditionally offers scalable, disk-based backup solutions with data reduplication.

The new partnership will leverage the respective strengths of both companies as well as their engineering expertise. The offerings will also be targeted at ATScloud's managed service provider (MSP) partners and ExaGrid's VAR partners. By extending disk-based reduplication capabilities to the cloud, the companies will be able to offer their customers and partners a variety of benefits.

Advantages of the new cloud-based offering include advanced options for DR audit and rapid recovery of backup data in the event of a disaster. Customers will also have the flexibility to pay for only what is used, which eliminates the need to overbuy capacity. They may also add or remove capacity quickly as their needs change, and may avoid upfront capital costs for the off-site storage of backup data for DR. The secure BDRcloud solution is housed in a Tier 4 data center.

"Our announcement with industry leader ExaGrid is another solid step in our journey to build on our secure hybrid-cloud infrastructure and become a leader in the BDRcloud era," said Steve Willard, EVP business development at ATScloud. "This partnership will help us strengthen and anchor our BDRcloud solution for our dedicated MSP partners. ExaGrid is the perfect partner to help us fully realize and service the BDRcloud opportunities in the short and long term."

"The relationship with ATScloud represents a powerful opportunity for ExaGrid to significantly expand its presence throughout the United States, and extend it to other parts of the world over time," added Marc Crespi, ExaGrid VP. "ATScloud has clearly demonstrated its ability to apply its considerable resources and expertise to not only enter the DRasS market, but to lead in it. We're excited to partner with ATScloud as we focus our combined energies serving a broader range of customers with industry-leading backup and recovery solutions."
