An advanced media asset management and provider of broadcast automation software, Primestream has announced the new Dig-IT solution. The offering is a server-based software application designed for broadcast, government, entertainment and corporate IT departments.
It will be available in the third quarter of 2013.
The Dig-IT solution helps customers monitor broadcast IT operations from anywhere, and monitors hardware and software within single and multiple IT facilities. The offering works with Primestream's FORK Production Suite, designed to make it simple for IT administrators to manage any kind of broadcast-related IT activity.
Dig-IT may be used within the FORK environment or as a standalone solution in multiple applications.
The solution offers centralized monitoring as well as an intuitive, Web-based front end that provides easy viewing and portability. Additional features include the ability to monitor multiple servers, applications, file system performance and usage from anywhere, across multiple facilities and within a single interface.
Dig-IT also generates alerts for administrators when performance hits a preset threshold, or when individual system components fail.
DIg-IT also enables the monitoring of essential data inside dynamic graphs so that analytics may be easily reviewed. It facilitates the monitoring of mission-critical servers and applications and lets administrators identify performance bottlenecks. This allows them to quickly recover from system failures and reduce downtime while controlling operational costs.
In addition to the FORK suite of production management applications, Primestream offers the Mobile2Air, ControlStation and cloud-based FORK Xchange solutions. The company specializes in the digital acquisition of live and file-based video content, as well as media asset management, editing, logging, control room and master control playback – and smartphone and table video contribution.
"Our strategy is to give all kinds of broadcast operations complete control over their entire workflow," said Claudio Lisman, president and CEO at Primestream. "Before Dig-IT, system administrators had to initiate remote sessions into individual computers in order to monitor system availability and performance for media operations, which was inefficient and not very useful. Dig-IT overcomes the high latency, poor visibility, and inflexibility inherent in that method, and it also gives users alerts and analytics that help them stay on top of the entire broadcast workflow."
