WatServ Providing Managed Cloud IT Services to Jiffy International in Multi-Year Agreement

By Laura Stotler

A new cloud computing partnership agreement has been finalized between Waterloo Managed Software Services USA, Inc. (WatServ), and Jiffy International. The multiple-year agreement has WatServ providing a comprehensive cloud computing solution for Jiffy's critical business systems.

WatServ will transition Jiffy's computer systems to its high-performance cloud infrastructure and services. Jiffy's systems are currently running on aging, customer-owned infrastructure in Norway, and will be moved to WatServ's cloud infrastructure and services running out of its Flint, Michigan data center.

The agreement includes providing computing services for Jiffy's several hundred users of Microsoft Dynamics AX, Exchange and SharePoint. WatServ will also provide computing services for hosted desktops and several legacy applications.

WatServ specializes in cloud computing services for hosted Microsoft Dynamics AX, GP, NAV, SL, CRM and other critical business systems.

The managed services will benefit Jiffy, a supplier of plant propagation systems based in Norway. The company specializes in simplifying transplanting as well as ensuring rapid growth of healthy plants globally for growers and gardeners. Jiffy has operations in Sweden, Estonia, Sri Lanka, Japan, Denmark, France, Germany, Norway, Netherlands, Spain, the U.K., the U.S. and Canada.

"Jiffy was using the services of a local hosting provider but the reliability and performance of their critical business applications was becoming a problem," said Tom Doerner, president of WatServ. "WatServ's per-user-per-month pricing model also made it possible for Jiffy to make the cost of IT variable."

"WatServ's solution allows Jiffy to avoid spending cash on replacing obsolete infrastructure while improving the performance and reliability of our critical business systems," remarked Dagfinn Andersen, executive vice president of Jiffy. "WatServ's experience, support and technologies were factors in the decision to change from a local supplier."
