QuickPlay Media Launches TVX Multimedia Solution for MSPs and Content Providers

By Laura Stotler

Provider of cloud-based media solutions, QuickPlay Media, has launched its new TVX TV everywhere express solution. The offering provides content and managed service providers (MSPs) with the ability to quickly and cost-effectively introduce multiscreen services to customers using both video on demand and live TV content.

QuickPlay is offering the service as an "off the shelf" solution, making it easy for MSPs to deploy and brand. TVX lets providers roll out a branded and configurable multiscreen offering in as little as 90 days and at a fraction of the cost of building an in-house solution. It will be available on March 15.

TVX is an express-style multiscreen deployment option for multimedia, and is capable of handling all aspects of service. These include end-to-end, ingestion and content management to play-out and reporting. The faster service delivery mechanisms enable MSPs to contain their costs, increase revenue potential and realize higher margin returns.

The offering includes a robust managed service infrastructure through QuickPlay's OpenVideo platform. Additional features include a configurable, brandable client application, support for adaptive streaming and fully protected content through the PlayReady feature. Other benefits are user entitlements, dynamic advertising, banner ad support, multi-language support, featured content, and multiple device support. The service is supported on Android, iOS, BB10 and Windows 8 devices as well as through multiple browsers.

"As the multiscreen market matures, content and service providers are looking to enter the market quickly, with well-defined offerings," said Wayne Purboo, CEO of QuickPlay. "However, the complex and costly nature of building solutions from scratch isn't an option for many of them. With TVX, we enable service providers to get engaging multiscreen experiences into market quickly, with significantly less investment than a "do it yourself" development project."
