The global leader in hosted IT solutions and cloud infrastructure for enterprises, Savvis Inc., recently announced that it will offer global, subscription-based hosting services for SAP AG’s SAP HANA platform. This new hosting arrangement will give enterprises a new way of tapping Big Data through Savvis, which is an SAP-certified, CenturyLink Company, and a provider of hosting and cloud services.

By accessing SAP HANA platform via subscription-based hosting services offered by Savvis, global businesses can now get real-time, instant entry into the analytical database and transaction platform without putting any effort of owning or maintaining the resources and infrastructure that completely supports it. SAP HANA is a real-time, intuitive database platform that essentially streamlines planning, analytics, and sentiment and predictive assessment that allows the enterprises to operate in real time.

As a leading SAP-certified provider of enterprise hosting and cloud services, Savvis will now offer the global enterprises with an on-demand, cost-effective, real-time, and cloud-based delivery model to execute mission-critical advanced SAP applications. When enterprises access SAP HANA through hosting services offered by Savvis, they tend to reduce purchasing costs and maintenance of costly server hardware, without actually losing control over the application layers and operating systems.

To garner SAP certification, the company’s logical and physical security measures, cloud infrastructure, technical and portal staff, and processes were subject to comprehensive SAP testing. The process helped in validating the hosting capabilities of Savvis with supported applications and operational integration of cloud-computing platform. It also ensured the company’s compliance with necessary SAP requirements for availability, quality and security.

Talking about Savvis’ hosting services for SAP HANA, Kevin Ichhpurani, senior vice president, Ecosystem and Channels, SAP, stated that from ERP applications to email archives, global businesses have extensive valuable information at their fingertips. The hosting and cloud environment provided by Savvis for SAP solutions, which include SAP HANA, will enable the consumers to be significantly agile, offering additional choices and operational efficiencies in tapping Big Data to take the business forward.

Under the new hosting arrangement, Savvis will configure, procure, and provision the network server hardware that is necessary to support SAP HANA, hosting the new platform in a single environment, and that too within one or more of the companies 50 secure, tightly controlled data centers operated globally. As an integral part of the company’s extensive suite of managed hosting services, Savvis Foundation Hosting enables the process of integration, combining the scalability and convenience of managed hosting within the control of in-house or colocation environments, thus, removing the hassles of power, space, hardware procurement, and management.
