It was recently revealed that managed services provider (MSP) Logicalis Group will acquire the four European subsidiaries of 2e2 in a $31 million deal. The arrangement excludes 2e2's U.K. business, although Logicalis has separately employed around 70 people from the defunct 2e2 U.K. operation as well as will be assuming some of its respective business.
The deal covers the Spanish and Irish systems integration businesses, which are operated under the Morse banner; the Channel Islands business, which includes Jersey and Guernsey; and the 2e2 operation in the Netherlands. The Netherlands subsidiary is an IT service management (ITSM) consultancy and also provides ITSM-as-a-Service offerings.
The acquisition builds on Logicalis Group's expansion strategy in mainland Europe and will also create a new center of excellence for service management at the Netherlands' hub. The subsidiary there will operate as Logicalis SMC (service management consultancy) and will support existing customers across a range of European countries.
The Irish subsidiaries are based out of Dublin and Cork, offering enterprise hardware and software solutions and services. Those operations also have partnerships in place with a number of vendors including IBM, NetApp and HP. The Channel Islands subsidiary is one of the largest IT service companies in that region, providing a range of information and communications technology services and solutions.
The Spanish, Irish and Channel Islands operations will all fall under the Logicalis banner and offer the MSP's extensive cloud services portfolio, including communications and collaboration offerings as well as data center and managed services solutions. The combined acquisitions will expand Logicalis operations to more than 480 employees in the four locations, bringing in annual revenues of about $150 million.
"This transaction delivers on our stated intentions to grow our European presence and augment our solutions and services capabilities," said Ian Cook, chief executive of Logicalis Group, in a statement. "In particular, the Spanish business is strategically important to us to strengthen relationships with our multinational clients in Latin America. The Service Management Consultancy business further enhances our services offering and allows us to introduce it to Logicalis' wider international audience."
"It also allows us to deliver an enhanced portfolio of communications and collaboration, data center, managed services and cloud services to these new markets," he added.
