Managed Hosting and Cloud Computing Agency Colotraq Announces Overhaul to Benefit Partners

By Laura Stotler

Colotraq has announced plans to overhaul its master agent business, including changes and improvements designed to make it more beneficial and lucrative for partners. The global sourcing advisory firm, which offers colocation, managed hosting and cloud computing services, will make a variety of changes to help its partners.

The master agency plans to introduce significantly higher commission splits that are based on the total amount of business a partner books through Colotraq. The company will also eliminate commission reductions for assistance in the sales process, in one of the larger changes and improvements.

Colotraq traditionally made significant reductions in the commission split for deals needing direct sales support from its staff. The agency now plans to offer its experience and expertise throughout the entire sales cycle at partners' requests, with no reduction to the commission split.

Agents will also benefit from Colotraq's previously negotiated commission agreements, which include evergreen payments, no commission disruption for termination for convenience, timely monthly commission payments and access to more than 400 vendor partners throughout the world.

Additional benefits of the enhanced program include a new tool on the Colotraq agent portal enabling agents to identify the names and locations of partners' data centers throughout the world, in real time. The information will be published in list format or via a map view through geo mapping technology.

“With a proprietary database of over 2,300 data centers, we believe we are the first in the industry to offer such a comprehensive tool whereby the agent can access data center information at this scale anywhere in the world while he has the client on the phone," said Lou Peccoralo, chief operating officer of Colotraq. "This powerful tool has the potential to increase the agent’s credibility with his clients instantly.”

“We have made a commitment to put our agents first in our 2013 plan," added Dany Bouchedid, CEO of Colotraq. "We want them to only think Colotraq when they have a data center colocation opportunity. To make that happen we have to offer a world class compensation plan and unparalled sales support.”
