CSG's Wholesale Billing Management Solution Available as Cloud-Based Offering for MSPs

By Laura Stotler

The Wholesale Billing Management Solution (WBMS) from CSG Systems International, Inc. is now available as a cloud-based offering. The solution is part of CSG's Business Support Solutions (BSS) suite, designed to support wholesale partner trading, routing, billing, settlement, roaming and additional contract and quality management capabilities.

The WBMS solution is a key component of CSG's new managed services program, and the cloud-based option enables managed service providers (MSPs) and cloud service providers (CSPs) to focus on their highest leverage activities. This helps service providers to secure and serve their growing number of partners, while also leveraging CSG's expertise in operating revenue-generating billing applications to manage the wholesale billing process.

The new cloud offering enables CSG's more than 300 service provider customers throughout the world to easily manage complex wholesale partner relationships and revenue streams. They may do this across national, international, roaming and content partnerships at reduced operating costs. CSPs and MSPs may also speed time to market for new services through the solution, since CSG quickly delivers new configurations to support new offerings while also taking care of hardware and software updates.

The CSG Managed Services Program and WBMS cloud offering are ultimately designed to enable service providers to leverage their customer, partner and revenue management processes. This frees them up to execute strategies for growth and next-generation service development, including on-premise, offshore, off-site at CSG facilities and cloud-based service options. The company's service provider customers include AT&T, Comcast, DISH Network, France Telecom, Orange, T-Mobile, Telefonica, Time Warner Cable, Vodafone, Vivo and Verizon.

"CSG's cloud-based offering allows us to apply our deep expertise in maximizing the wholesale revenue stream while reducing the technical complexity and expense for our clients," said Alam Gill, senior vice president of managed services, CSG International. "The fast-growing dominance of IP-based content and services creates opportunities for new revenue streams through extended relationships to other operators and content partners. ACSP's BSS, including billing fundamentals, is growing in importance as it must cost-effectively and efficiently support the wholesale management process."
