KPN Awards Accenture Four-Year Digital Managed Services Contract

By Laura Stotler

KPN and Accenture have entered a major, four-year managed services contract, the companies announced. Accenture has been awarded a technology and management consulting contract to develop, build and maintain a range of digital managed services for KPN.

The Dutch telecom and IT services provider will use the new services to support its online domain as well as to drive integration and standardization. The contract builds on the existing long-term relationship between the two companies, and will expand on a range of capabilities Accenture is already providing. Financial terms of the deal have not been disclosed.

Accenture has a number of managed services contracts already in place at KPN for its business support systems, infrastructure operations and a multimedia services arrangement. That contract has Accenture delivering KPN's interactive TV services to multiple devices, including TVs, tablets and smartphones, using the Accenture Video Solution.

The new, four-year managed services contract will have Accenture work with KPN to enable a more consistent customer experience for KPN's clients across digital touchpoints. The company will provide application development and management services to KPN from its Netherlands location, as well as through its India Delivery Center in Bangalore.

Accenture's global delivery offerings focus on outcome, productivity and quality improvement using a variety of tools, innovations, shared services, process optimizations, automation and reusable assets. The company serves clients in more than 120 countries, bringing together advanced technology platforms with consulting, analytics, web development and digital managed services capabilities.

“This program delivers application development and maintenance for all of KPN’s applications for its Internet domains," said Anatoly Roytman, lead of the Accenture Interactive digital practice for Europe, Middle East and Africa. "It will combine effectively the support of KPN’s online domain activities which is currently provided by various outside suppliers.”

“We look forward to helping KPN achieve more streamlined and efficient online domain activities and process standardization,” said Marc Dijks, managing director, technology, at Accenture. “By choosing to work with Accenture, KPN will take advantage of our broad technology expertise, our global delivery capabilities, and superior online industry knowledge.”
