Aquantia Introduces Highly Efficient 10 Gigabit Ethernet MAC Controller

Aquantia (News - Alert) Corp., (NYSE: AQ), a leader in high-speed, Multi-Gigabit Ethernet connectivity solutions, today announced the AQtion AQC100 10G Ethernet Controller. The AQtion AQC100 provides a flexible and highly optimized 10GbE solution that enables SFP+ port or backplane connectivity. The 7mm x 11mm package offers a small-footprint, cost-effective PCI (News - Alert) Express to 10GbE solution that can be used in a range of applications including gateways, routers, switches, workstations, servers, chassis-based systems, network attached storage, Network Interface Cards (NICs) and other embedded applications.

The first retail devices based on the AQC100 is the AQtion AQN-100 NIC (News - Alert) that offers x4 PCIe to SFP+ connectivity. The AQtion AQN-100 is available on Amazon and will be specially priced during the month of March for $59.98. (The discount is reflected upon checkout.) The AQN-100 can enable 10GbE DAC or optical connectivity when installed in the standard PCI Express slots commonly found in PC, workstation and server platforms.

Features of the AQtion AQC100 include:

  • PCI Express 3.0 modes with x4/x2/x1 lane operation
  • SFP+ for Direct Attach Copper (DAC) and optical SFP modules
  • Board-level or backplane connectivity between chips
  • Support for Windows, macOS, Linux, Data Plane Development Kit and other operating systems
  • Less than 1W power consumption
