Infor Intros Cloud Offering for Equipment Industry

Infor, a provider of business application software catering to more than 70,000 customers, has unveiled a cloud-based product of its suite of applications for the equipment industry.

Equipment and machinery companies need to meet increasing competition and price pressures head-on. For this, they need to use visibility to manage outsourced value chains. Whether the customer manufactures, distributes, services, sells or rents, he/she simply can't walk away after the deal is made.

The customer should have continuous control and a plain view of the equipment lifecycle from all angles.

For their equipment-centric business, more than 5,500 customers in about 60 countries make use of Infor applications. Whether installed on-premises or in the cloud, Infor Equipment assists users in centralizing important data from production, sales, service, warranty, finance and rental with a single, scalable business system to encourage strategic and profitable operations.

“Infor is committed to helping our customers in the equipment industry drive efficiency not only through applications that improve business processes, but also through technology that helps reduce their IT budgets," said Mark Wright, executive vice president, Infor. "Customers that choose to deploy Infor applications in the cloud will be able to take advantage of reduced costs, increased flexibility and easier upgrades, all with maintenance and support direct from Infor's award winning Xtreme Support Program.”

Recently, the company partnered with Red Hat Inc., a provider of open source solutions, to make Infor's ERP suite available on both Red Hat (News - Alert) Enterprise Linux and JBoss Enterprise Middleware solutions. Based on industry standards that is high performing and reliable, this offers customers a highly flexible solution.

Infor10 ION and Infor LN are now certified on Red Hat Enterprise Linux operating platform and JBoss Enterprise Middleware solutions.
